Many large pig breeding firms in the country have reported a surge in profits in the first months of the year thanks to high prices due to a supply shortage.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has asked pig breeding farms and households to reduce the price of live hog to VND70,000 (US$3) per kilo in order to stabilise the domestic market during the COVID-19 pandemic.
GreenFeed Vietnam JSC signed a contract with AGCO GSI Company (Malaysia) to build farm infrastructure, including a farm system, cooling system and an automatic feeding system for pig breeding.
