Viet Nam''s economy expanded an estimated 5.52 per cent in
the first six months of the year, down from the same period last year,
the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported on Tuesday.
The southern province of Dong Nai attracted US$1.01 billion in foreign
direct investment (FDI) in the first six months of the year, surpassing
its US$1 billion target set for the year.
Over 60 per cent of brokerage companies reported profits in the first
six months of this year, but half of them saw their profits
compared with the same period last year.
