The cement production industry may face increasing pressure from an anticipated excess of supply over demand, although the industry posted good sale results this year.
Viet Nam''s cement production has met domestic demand since 2010 but has
surpassed it since 2012 because of declining consumption resulting from
economic recession.
The Government has approved the removal of nine cement production
projects from the country''s cement industry development planning,
according to the Ministry of Construction.
Domestic cement producers this year will have to give priority to
developing exports as supply still exceeds demand and the domestic
market outlook remains grim, industry insiders have said.
