Rising production costs are harming the competitiveness of Vietnamese seafood products, according to experts. These include the prices of feed, material input, electricity and labour.
Exports of Vietnamese seafood products to South Korea are expected to
increase strongly this year thanks to the free trade agreement between
the two countries that took effect last December, according to the Korea
Fishery Trade Association.
Vietnamese seafood products have attracted Russian customers at an
international seafood exhibition in Moscow because of high demand,
especially for tra fish products.
Viet Nam and Belgium are looking to establish a centre to distribute
and auction Vietnamese seafood products at the port of Zeebrugge in
northwestern Belgium.
