A major coffee processing factory, expected to become the biggest of its kind in Viet Nam, was inaugurated on Saturday in the southern province of Dong Nai’s Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Zone
The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has warned agencies of a
boom in textile and garment industrial zones in cities and provinces
ahead of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Businesses from the southern province of Dong Nai will get
opportunities to join the supply chain of leading American retail
corporations such as Costco, Target and Walmart.
Tin Nghia Corporation exported 117,000 tonnes of coffee beans earning a
turnover of $226 million, remaining the second biggest coffee exporter
in Viet Nam.
The new Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB), formed by its 2012 merger with two
other joint stock banks, Viet Nam Tin Nghia and De Nhat, is turning
things around after a difficult start.
Dong Nai''s southern province chiefly exported 100,000 tonnes of coffee
to the US, Germany and other European countries, during Jan-April 2014,
doubling last year''s figures, noted the provincial statistics office.
Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam has signed an agreement for a US$22
million structured trade finance facility with Tin Nghia Corporation to
fund the expansion of one of Viet Nam''s leading coffee exporters.
