Saigon Petro has proposed to bring petrol A92 back to the market when the consumption of E5 bio-fuel is low and it is not meeting the target of environmental protection.
The quality of E5 bio fuel in Viet Nam is ensured and meets international standards. All features, capacity and fuel consumption remain the same, and in some criteria E5 is better than RON 92, officials said.
The retail prices of RON 92 petrol and E5 bio-fuel remained unchanged at VND18,580 (81 US cents) and VND18,243 per litre, respectively, at 3pm on Tuesday after continuous increases in recent months.
The domestic retail price of petroleum increased by VND357 to reach VND16,426 (73 US cents) per litre as of 3pm on Thursday, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said.
The supply of E5 bio-fuel is enough to meet the local demand and can fully replace RON 92 petrol beginning next year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said.
E5 bio-fuel will replace A92 petrol by June 2017 as many localities in the country are using the bio-fuel product, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said.
The popularity and consumption of E5 bio-fuel remained below the
government''s expectations due to inadequate support with regard to
lowering its prices and ensuring supply.
The export tax for sliced cassava was reduced from 5 per cent to zero
last weekend after the Finance Ministry released Circular No. 141 on
revising the tax.
Delays in land clearance have put the Sai Gon Safari Park, once expected
to become one of the largest eco-tourism facilities in Viet Nam, on
hold for the past 11 years.
E5 grade bio-fuel has been largely ignored by users though it has been
available in seven cities and provinces since December 2014 and the
Government is set to sell it nation-wide starting this December.
