HA NOI (Biz Hub) ─ Share prices increased slightly in Tokyo and Shanghai while stock indices lost value in other Asian markets on Monday.

In Japan, the Tokyo Stock Exchange Tokyo Price Index added 2.48 points to close at 1,313.72, and the Nikkei 225 gained 39.09 points to close at 15,948.29.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose by 7.29 points to end at 2,339.14 while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index slumped by 238.33 points to finish at 24,356.99.

In Viet Nam, the VN-Index closed 2.16 points down at 630.34 on the HCM City Stock Exchange, and the HNX-Index inched down by 0.08 point to end at 89.41 on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange.

Singapore's Straits Times Index dropped by 18.12 points to close at 3,327.43. — VNS
