The State Audit Office of Viet Nam this week went on a five-day visit to the UK to promote international co-operation.

The aim of the visit was to boost co-operation with the UK National Audit Office, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Auditor General, Ho Duc Phoc, said that the co-operation with the UK would focus on training of human resources for the State Audit Office of Viet Nam, and support it in implementing operational auditing, information technology auditing and environmental auditing, which were new to Viet Nam.

Phoc said that the State Audit Office of Viet Nam needed to promote the application of information and technology and advanced auditing methods to catch up with the world in the industry 4.0, which was taking place rapidly.

Phoc proposed to NAO, ACCA and ICAEW to provide training to Viet Nam, share information and knowledge, and organise conferences to help Viet Nam improve the efficiency of auditing. — VNS
