HA NOI (Biz Hub) – The Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) has announced the names of six investors who bought 39.6 million shares of the Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) from Australian bank ANZ last October 10.
Last September 29, ANZ announced its divestment of all of its 61 million shares in SSI after seven years of co-operation.
Under this transaction, Hoang Thu Huong now owns seven million shares while Doan Thi Hong Thuy owns 13 million shares, Nguyen Viet Ninh owns 5.1 million shares and Nguyen Thi Tra My owns 1.5 million shares. Also, Saigon Linh Dan Real Estate Company owns seven million shares while Nguyen Saigon Limited Company owns six million shares.
As the transfer of the shares was made via VSD, the value of the deals was not published. On the same day, SSI shares closed at VND30.500 (US$1.46) each.
After the transaction, ANZ still owns 22.33 million shares, equivalent to a 6.3-per cent stake in SSI. The number of remaining shares is equal to the amount of shares that Nguyen Duy Hung, the SSI president, and Duong Mat Troi Investment Corporation registered to buy last November.
Earlier, SSI confirmed that ANZ has significantly contributed to SSI's development, especially in broadening its customer base. However the company also said the divestment would give SSI a huge opportunity to create more room for their foreign investors, who failed to buy SSI shares because of the room limit. — VNS
