Da Nang authorities have selected Singaporean-based firms Sakae Corporate Advisory and Surbana Jurong to design the central city’s master plan and economic development strategy towards 2030.

The information was unveiled by director of the municipal Department of Construction Vu Quang Hung on Wednesday.

On April 26, 2018, the municipal People’s Committee, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Sakae Holdings Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding on the introduction of Singaporean experts to help with the plan.

On December 3, 2018, in official dispatch No 1709/TTg-CN on the selection of advisers for the planning process, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc agreed the work would be carried out in line with Article 26 of the 2013 Law on Bidding.

On December 14, on behalf of the local authorities, the management board of Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects signed a principal contract with the two selected companies.

Following the agreement, Sakae Corporate Advisory – a subsidiary of Sakae Holdings Ltd which offers corporate advisory and strategic investor relations services – is set to assist Da Nang in designing its economic development strategy.

Meanwhile, urban and infrastructure development consultancy Surbana Jurong will take care of the city’s master plan. — VNS
