This year it grew by 125 per cent, the Japanese company said.
Over the last decade its market share grew strongly, and it is the leader in some segments like microwave ovens and rice cookers, it said.
In fact, it sells one of every two microwaves in the market and one of every three rice cookers, it said.
At a meeting held on Wednesday to announce plans for its 10th anniversary celebrations, Sharp announced its entry into the smartphone market with the AQUOS Zero.
The phone has a 6.2-inch OLED screen manufactured by Sharp and weighs only 146gm.
Sharp also introduced many new products, including air conditioner, refrigerators, rice cookers and others.
In beauty care, the company showcased the plasmacluster ion technology used in some products like hair dryers and ionic hair brushes.
There were smart TVs with 70- and 60-inch screens and audio setup technology for improved sound.
In the audio segment, it plans to introduce the sound partner, a unique wearable neck speaker with allows users to enjoy hands- and ears-free music. It does not need to be removed while talking and has 14 hours of playback time.
The company also unveiled smartphone-controlled air-conditioners using AIoT technology. Through their phones, users can remotely check its operation, room status and power consumption and turn on or off.
Many new technologies are also in the offing in other products like refrigerators and rice cookers.
The 10th anniversary will feature many promotions for the Lunar New Year in early 2019 including lots of vouchers for air purifiers, gifts when buying TVs and refrigerators and discounts. — VNS
