HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Visa's online transactions increased by 52 per cent year-on-year in the nine-month period between September 2013 and June this year, with online shoppers using their Visa debit cards more than ever to make purchases, said a company official.
"We have seen 19 per cent of our payment volume from Vietnamese cardholders coming from e-commerce in the period," Sean Preston, Visa's country manager for Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Laos, told a press briefing on Tuesday.
Debit cards accounted for 39 percent of Visa's online transactions in Viet Nam during the period after growing by 67 per cent during the period.— VNS
