The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange slid 0.05 per cent to close at 962.40 points.
Liquidity remained low with about 87 million shares traded on the southern bourse, worth VND1.7 trillion (US$73 million).
The index inched up 0.38 per cent on Monday to close at 962.85 points.
Large-cap stocks were mixed. The Cotec Construction Joint Stock Company (CTD) increased by VND3,000 to VNĐ101,000 per share, Vietjet Air (VJC) rose by VNĐ1,000 to VNĐ124,500 per share.
Meanwhile, brewery Sabeco (SAB) lost VNĐ1,000 to trade at VNĐ280,000 per share. Vietcombank (VCB) dropped VNĐ700 to VNĐ72,200 per share.
The large-cap VN30-Index rose 0.11 per cent to end the morning session at 869.93 points. Performance was mixed with 11 gainers and 14 decliners, while five stocks ended flat.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.60 per cent to end at 104.15 points.
More than 13 million shares were exchanged on the northern market, worth VND229 billion.
