Shares rise marginally in morning trading


The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange gained marginally, adding 0.02 per cent to reach 605.37 points.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange gained marginally, adding 0.02 per cent to reach 605.37 points.

The trading value and volume were nearly VND1.2 trillion (US$56.6 million) and 58.5 million shares respectively.

The VN30 Index, however, lost 0.36 per cent to close at 647.52 points, as the leading large-cap stocks stumbled, including insurer Bao Viet (BVH), private equity firm Masan (MSN) and property developer Vingroup (VIC).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index managed to rise 0.16 per cent to end at 82.08 points.

The HNX30 Index, comprising the bourses top 30 shares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, also increased 0.48 per cent to finish at 166.56 points.

The overall value and volume of trading reached VND348.1 billion ($16.4 million) and 33.4 million shares. — VNS
