Shares end differently in Asian markets


Shares in Viet Nam's Hanoi and HCM City stock markets ended on a high on Wednesday. The HNX Index rose 0.96 points to 62.59 and the VN Index gained 2.05 points to reach 502.23.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares in Viet Nam's Hanoi and HCM City stock markets ended on a high on Wednesday. The HNX Index rose from 0.96 points to 62.59 and the VN Index gained 2.05 points to reach 502.23.

Singapore shares ended higher on Wednesday with the Straits Times Index gaining 10.47 points to 3,454.37. Some 3.78 billion shares, valued at S$1.66 billion were traded. Gainers outnumbered losers 327 to 162.

Malaysian shares closed lower with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 3.50 points to 1,783.88.

Chinese shares closed to mixed results after a rally of five consecutive trading days. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.12 percent, or 2.71 points, to end at 2,302.40. The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.02 percent, or 1.53 points, to 9,405.06.— The Straits Times/China Daily/ANN/VNS
