HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Share markets closed higher across Asia on Thursday as the HNX Index gained 0.26 points to close at 58.99, while in HCM City, the VN Index added 1.83 points to finish the session at 476.09

As the mid-Autumn festival falls on Thursday, the Chinese markets are closed for both Thursday and Friday, leaving the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) unchanged at 2,191.85.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index (HSI) jumped 385.06 points to close at 23,502.51, while in Singapore, the Straits Times Index (STI) gained 57.93 points to finish at 3,251.8.

Both Japanese bourses advanced with the Nikkei 225 (NKY) edging up 262.82 points to 14,766.18, while the Topix Index (TPX) added 22.41 points to finish trade at 1,215.48. — VNS
