Shares close in the black this morning


Shares managed to gain on both the national stock exchanges this morning, following the recovery made late yesterday afternoon.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares managed to gain on both the national stock exchanges this morning, following the recovery made late yesterday afternoon.

The VN-Index added 2.36 points, or as much as 0.4 per cent, to end at 592.5 points.

The total value in the morning trading reached more than VND1.3 trillion, or US$61.9 million, on the exchange of more than 74 million shares.

Half of the southern bourse's 30 largest stocks by capitalisation and liquidity gained this morning, while only five codes fell, helping the VN30-Index to add 0.36 per cent to reach 672.28 points.

The huge gains by big names such as the FPT Group, Vinamilk, the Bao Viet Group and the REE Corporation helped clear the losses made by Vietinbank, Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Sacombank.

On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index ended at 89.87 points, a rise of 0.36 per cent, while the HNXFF-Index, tracking stocks with a minimum free floating rate of 5 per cent, edged up 0.45 per cent to land at 90.86 points.

The HNX30-Index, comprising the top stocks, closed 0.52 per cent higher at 184.93 points.

More than 50.7 million shares changed hands in the morning trading with a total value of VND592 billion, or $28.2 million. — VNS
