Shares close in the black


Shares closed higher on both the national stock exchanges this morning.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares closed higher on both the national stock exchanges this morning.

On the HCM City Exchange, the VN-Index gained 0.35 per cent to reach 522.92 points, while the VN30-Index, tracking the southern city's top shares by capitalisation and liquidity, edged up 0.73 per cent to touch 580.8 points.

Gains came from 22 of the 30 largest stocks, such as Hoa Phat Group (HPG), PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) and Vinamilk (VNM). Only four codes lost this morning.

The total trading value reached VND935.6 billion (US$44.55 million) on the trading of 56.54 million shares.

On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.42 per cent to reach 71.46 points while the HNXFF-Index gained 0.36 per cent to end at 71.24 points.

More than 26 million shares with a total value of VND250 billion ($1.19 million) changed hands. The HNX30-Index soared 1.46 per cent to reach 137.23 points.— VNS
