HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares closed higher on both national bourses this morning.
The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange added 1.07 points, or 0.19 per cent, to end the morning session at 566.11 points on the trading of more than 50 million shares, worth VND909.8 billion (US$42.12 million).
The VN30-Index, tracking the southern bourse's largest shares by capitalisation and liquidity, edged up 0.12 per cent to finish at 596.56 points, although the losers outnumbered the gainers by 12 to 10.
The gainers included Masan Group (MSN), PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) and Hoa Sen Group, while the shares of the Southern Rubber Corporation (CSM), FPT Group (FPT) and Da Nang Rubber Corporation (DRC) dropped this morning.
On the northern exchange, the HNX-Index rose by 0.2 per cent to reach 83.46 points, thanks to blue chips' rally. The HNX30-Index, comprising the largest shares, finished 0.48 per cent higher to stand at 159.11 points.
With more than 27 million shares changing hands, the trading value reached VND339.5 billion ($15.7 million). —VNS
