Shanghai rises, but most Asian indices end lower

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Most Asian indices slipped, while the Shanghai Composite Index increased by 92.57 points to reach 4,287.30 in China on April 17.

The Nikkei 225 lost 232.89 points to close at 19,652.88, while the Topix Index fell 10.73 points to end at 1,588.69 in Tokyo.

The Hang Seng Index decreased 86.59 points to close at 27,653.12 in Hong Kong, and the Straits Time Index also edged down 6.42 points to reach 3,525.19 points in Singapore.

The two bourses in Viet Nam ended higher on the same day. The VN-Index in the HCM Stock Exchange added 0.04 point to finish at 568.32, and the HNX-Index in the Hanoi Stock Exchange increased by 0.21 points to reach 83.61. — VNS
