HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares rebounded this morning as large-cap stocks recovered, led by securities companies and banks.
On the HCM Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index increased 0.7 per cent to close morning trade at 687.6 points. It declined 0.8 per cent in the last two trading sessions.
The HNX-Index on the smaller exchange in Ha Noi was up 0.3 per cent to end at 85.6 points. It also rose 0.4 per cent yesterday.
Several large-cap stocks gained value this morning. Financial shares, including banks, securities and insurance such as lender BIDV (BID), Vietcombank (VCB), Bao Viet Holdings (BHV), HCM Securities Corp (HCM) and Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) increased between one per cent and 3.4 per cent.
The largest losers were real estate and steel shares such as Hoa Phat Group (HPG), Hoa Sen Group (HPG), FLC Group (FLC), HCM City Infrastructure Investment (CII) and Tan Tao Investment Industry (ITA).
Overall market condition was negative as the number of losing shares outnumbered gainers by 224-151. Some 315 stocks closed unchanged.
A total of nearly 76 million shares worth a combined VND1.7 trillion (US$76 million) were traded on the two markets. — VNS
