HCM CITY — Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, in collaboration with the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), on Thursday officially inaugurated the Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Lý Tự Trọng College.

The centre is expected to become a key driver in developing green initiatives and enhancing the skills of the new workforce, with a focus on electrical installation, industrial automation and renewable energy.

Đồng Mai Lâm, general director of Schneider Electric Vietnam and Cambodia, said: “The Centre of Excellence is a testament to our long-term commitment to making a positive impact and promoting sustainable development in Việt Nam. In the context of Việt Nam's robust digital transformation and commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, training highly qualified workers is recognised as essential, alongside the increased use of renewable energy and a reduction in fossil fuel reliance. The centre will play a significant role in offering specialised training solutions for students and lecturers, supporting the transition to a green economy.

Located within Lý Tự Trọng College, the centre is equipped with advanced technology and modern learning spaces designed to simulate energy management and intelligent automation processes. It emphasises practical training to enhance students' technical knowledge and skills. At the same time, it provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in smart manufacturing and renewable energy, contributing to the country's industrialisation efforts.

Phạm Hữu Lộc, representative of Lý Tự Trọng College, said: "The centre plays a vital role in our college's teaching and learning activities. Faculty members and students will receive in-depth training and regular updates on advanced technologies and development trends in electricity, automation, digitalisation and energy management worldwide.
