HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Sixteen credit institutions bought 14,800 taels of gold when the State Bank of Viet Nam offered up 15,000 taels at VND36.96-36.99 million ($1,760-1,761) each, in the 68th auction on Friday.
Amid the auctions, the market price of gold slid slightly. Saigon Jewellery Company (SJC) posted gold prices between VND36.90-37.00 million ($1,757-1,761) on its website, while on kitco.com trading floor was selling at $1,322.3 per ounce, or $1,593 per tael. Prices in Viet Nam remained $168 higher per tael than global rates.
