HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) sold almost one tonne of gold during its 24th auction of gold bars in the capital today. Of the 26,000 taels offered, only 100 taels were left unsold. The SBV set the reference price at VND40.75 million (US$1,940) per tael.
According to a local newspaper, the buyers were credit organisations and enterprises which had conducted transactions with the SBV before.
In an effort to balance supply and demand and stabilise the market, the SBV has held 24 gold auctions since March and sold 606,300 taels. — VNS
