ĐÀ NẴNG — Samsung Vietnam and Junior Achievement Vietnam on Wednesday launched the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 competition in the central region, aiming to promote STEM education and inspire young minds to tackle real-world challenges through technology.

Held in Đà Nẵng, the event marked the second stop in a nationwide roadshow following the March launch in Hà Nội. The southern leg is expected to conclude in HCM City later this month.

The competition targets secondary and high school students aged 12–18, encouraging them to apply STEM, AI and design thinking to solve social and environmental issues. It is expected to reach about 50,000 students in the central region alone.

Speaking at the event, Director of Đà Nẵng Department of Education and Training Lê Thị Bích Thuận praised Samsung's long-term commitment to education.

“This programme creates a modern, inspiring playground for students and supports sustainable local development,” she said.

President of Samsung Vietnam Na Ki Hong highlighted the company’s mission to nurture tech talent in Việt Nam. “In addition to economic contributions, Samsung wants to help build the country’s future leadership through education,” he said.

Since its debut in Việt Nam in 2019, Solve for Tomorrow has attracted more than 475,000 students and teachers nationwide. In 2024, there were nearly 600 entries from over 2,500 students and teachers in central Việt Nam, with several teams advancing to the national finals.

This year, the programme includes new AI-focused training and a 'Solve for Tomorrow on Tour' campaign to spread STEM knowledge through workshops and tech experiences. The project has already reached over 5,000 students in the central region and is expected to impact 12,000 students nationwide by the end of May.

The 2025 competition runs until October 31, offering prizes worth up to VNĐ6 billion (US$230,000), including STEM lab sponsorships worth US$60,000 for winning schools. — VNS
