QUANG NINH (Biz Hub) — The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh exported some 28,000 tonnes of coal on January 31, the first day of the Lunar New Year, from the Cam Pha port.
As many as 24,200 tonnes of coal were loaded into the ship Magolia Ace from Panama for shipment to Japan, while the Vietnamese vessel Vinacomin No.2 received another 2,800 tonnes to provide for the domestic market.
The Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company said that from now until February 3, three more ships will deliver coal from here to the domestic and international markets.
In January, more than 1.6 tonnes of coal were shipped via Cam Pha port.
This year, the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) targets earning VND105.5 trillion (US$5 billion) in revenue from selling 35 million tonnes of coal.
