HA NOI (Biz Hub) – PricewaterhouseCoopers Viet Nam (PwC Viet Nam) Ltd. and Public Procurement Agency (PPA) on Thursday signed a contract on transaction advice for the eGovernment Procurement project (e-GP).

The contract-signing ceremony was held in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, World Bank, and Transparency International, apart from FPT and BKAV corporations.

The e-GP project is considered critical to the general development plan of the national public procurement system.

When completed, the system will improve cost efficiency and time in public procurement activities, enabling bidders to compete in a fair and more transparent environment.

The e-GP project is pioneering a field of online procurement and applying a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, and thus requires an experienced transaction advisor in both areas.

The selected firm will assist the Public Procurement Agency (PPA) during the tendering, evaluation and contracting stage of this critical eGovernment initiative.

The project bidding is under the PPP Support Project (P3SP) which is jointly financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the French Development Agency (AFD).

The tender was finally rewarded to PwC Viet Nam, a member of the PwC global network – one of the world's leading consulting firms.

Under the contract, PwC will support PPA in selecting suitable suppliers to develop the eGovernment Procurement System which will enhance the national procurement system and provide the government with experience in implementing PPP contracts.

PPA Deputy Director Nguyen Dang Truong said this event marked the first step in implementing the government's Decree 15/2015/ND-CP which regulates PPP investment projects. – VNS
