Pico Play, a subsidiary of Pico Group, said it will launch a representative office and fabrication factory in Viet Nam in the second quarter of this year, which will act as a gateway, facilitating Pico Play’s access to the Asian market.

The office and factory will be near Ha Noi City, the company affirmed, adding that the project that has been under conception since Pico first started working with partners in Viet Nam and will expand the scale of operations to support large-scale projects in the country.

Pico Play is a global leader in the planning, design, development and construction of world-class themed attractions and entertainment. Pico Play’s products range from theme parks, zoos and animal parks, waterparks, family entertainment centers, surf parks, aquarium and marine parks, and public attractions.

"The new factory has the advantage of better serving our Vietnamese clients and offering more competitive pricing. We will undertake specialist techniques like glass-reinforced concrete, steel fabrication, and fiberglass molding to provide international quality service to our Vietnamese clients. Furthermore, the factory will provide the ideal opportunities for a team of welders, plasterers, production engineers, and other skilled tradespeople to exercise their expertise and contribute to the local economy,” said Noel Dempsey, Pico Play director of business delivery, said.

Pico is currently working with Sun Group, Novaland, Sunny World, Bao Son Group, and Phat Dat Company on a series of entertainment projects in the near future. Previously, the company also cooperated with VinGroup and completed two attraction projects within the VinWonder Phu Quoc entertainment complex.

On the Viet Nam market, Dempsey said: “This market that has just exploded over the past 10 to 20 years, Viet Nam is making an impression with groundbreaking ideas executed within a local theme. In Viet Nam, real estate companies and property developers own many big parcels of land in beautiful locations for mixed-use precincts such as residential, accommodation, retail, and leisure; however, that is not enough. To maximise their investment, they need an anchor attraction be it a theme park, amusement park, or waterpark, to stand out in an increasingly competitive market. Our priority is to realize that vision.” — VNS
