Park Hyatt Saigon Hotel and Moon N Sun, a local producer of high-end gifts, are selling their unique collection of authentic moon cakes inspired by the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festivals of the 1990s when people cheered a bountiful harvest and children awaited tasty treats.
The launch of the traditional mooncake collection is to honour traditional and cultural values while providing high quality cuisine to moon cake lovers, according to a representative of Moon N Sun.
“With the inspiration of the 1990s, the nostalgic concept has different details like the ivory coating with jade rabbits, lantern drawings and luxury cake covers,“ she added.
Moon N Sun mooncakes are handmade with four traditional flavours including northern lotus seed, black sesame with salted egg yolk, matcha with salted egg yolk and tropical fruit.
The collection includes three types of boxes: a traditional box with four authentic cakes priced at VND1.5 million (US$65.2), a premium box with four cakes and a box of green tea at VNĐ2.5 million and a deluxe box with four cakes and one bottle of Late Harvest wine at VND3.25 million.
The high-end mooncakes are available for sale at both the Moon N Sun boutiques in Ha Noi and HCM City, and Park Hyatt Saigon, located at 2 Lam Son Square in District 1. — VNS
