Most banks raise dollar exchange rates

HA NOI (Biz Hub) – On November 13 morning, most banks increased their dollar exchange rate by VND5 to VND15 (0.02 pence to 0.07 pence) higher than on November 12, reported business news website Gafin.

While Viet Nam Commercial Bank (Vietcombank) is selling a dollar for VND21,330, Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) and Export-Import Bank (Eximbank) are charging between VND21,265 and VND21,335.

The dollar's buying rate at BIDV is VND5 higher than that of November 12 and stands at VND21,275, while its selling rate is VND21,335, VND15 higher than the previous day.

Techcombank has not changed the buying rate, but has raised the dollar's selling rate by VND15, with the exchange rate being VND21,230 and VND21,345.

DongABank has maintained its exchange rate at VND21,265 and VND21,330 for buying and selling a dollar respectively.

On the contrary, the buying and selling rates for one tael of gold fell slightly to VND35.02 million and VND35.14 million ($1,649 and $1,655) respectively. Yesterday, the corresponding gold prices were VND35.03 million and VND35.15 million ($1,650 and $1,655.6).

On the world market too, the gold price fell marginally to stand at $1,159 per ounce or $1,396 per tael, with one tael being equivalent to 1.205 ounces.

Using the exchange rate of Vietcombank, excluding taxes and other expenses, the domestic gold price per tael is VND5.4 million ($254) higher than the world price, according to Gafin website's calculation. – VNS
