Most Asian markets end higher


Asian markets ended higher on January 20. The Hang Seng Index climbed 230.91 points to reach 23,969.40 in Hong Kong, and the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China increased by 56.70 points to close at 3,173.05.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian markets ended higher on January 20.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 230.91 points to reach 23,969.40 in Hong Kong, and the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China increased by 56.70 points to close at 3,173.05.

The Nikkei 225 jumped 352.01 points to reach 17,366.30, and the Topix Index added 25.22 points to close at 1,397.63 in Tokyo. The Straits Times Index also gained 22.98 points to end at 3,331.51 in Singapore.

The two bourses in Viet Nam ended mixed on the same day. The VN Index added 0.71 points to close at 572.22, but the HNX slipped 0.27 points to finish at 84.99. — VNS
