MobiFone targets foreign tourists with new mobile offering

MobiFone, a subsidiary of Viet Nam's largest telecom service provider, the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunication Group, has launched a pre-paid Happy Tourist package exclusively for foreign visitors to Viet Nam.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — MobiFone, a subsidiary of Viet Nam's largest telecom service provider, the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunication Group, has launched a pre-paid Happy Tourist package exclusively for foreign visitors to Viet Nam.

Subscribers will have two options: Happy Tourist Data, which will offer data and SMS services; and Happy Tourist Voice&Data, which will offer calls, SMS and data services with instructions in English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese.

The package includes a SIM card and an account worth VND200,000 (US$9.5).

The Happy Tourist Data offers three gigabytes of high-quality 3G data services. Subscribers can send intra-network, trans-network and international text messages for VND290, 350 and 2,500 respectively. Its data service will cost VND9.77 per 50 kilobytes. — VNS
