HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Two exhibitions, Mining Viet Nam and Building and Construction Viet Nam will be held from March 29 to 31, 2016, at the International Centre for Exhibition (ICE) in Ha Noi.

Mining Viet Nam 2016 is the third International Mining and Minerals Recovery Exhibition.

The three-day event is expected to attract 161 exhibitors from 22 countries and territories such as the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Germany and Singapore, besides China and Australia.

Covering an area of 3,852sq.m, the event offers visitors a chance to access advanced global mining technologies to improve operations, increase product value and enhance competitiveness. It also offers updated information about markets, partners and trends in the Vietnamese and global mining industries.

Several famous brand names such as Rieckermann, Vinza Corporation, Marubeni Komatsu and Mico Corporation, besides Bosch Viet Nam, PET, Source of Asia and Viet Nam National Coal and Minerals Industries Group (Vinacomin) will participate in Mining Viet Nam.

BT Tee, deputy head of the representative office of Singapore Exhibition Services, a member of the United Kingdom's All World Exhibition Alliance – the event organiser -- said this year the exhibition would maintain its scale and attract a large number of international suppliers.

"This proves that businesses are optimistic about the industrial development in Viet Nam, thanks to the increasing coal demand for thermopower plants," he said.

The exhibition is held every two years, being one of the largest and most reliable events in the mining sector so far.

Last year, the exhibition was attended by 3,581 leaders from the sector in Viet Nam and other countries. More than 90 per cent of the visitors were pleased about the exhibition and 98 per cent said they would attend the upcoming events.

Paul Fitzgerald, regional manager of Weir Minerals, said the number of customers they met during the three days was equal to those they deal with in three weeks.

Two technology conferences are being held along with the exhibition. One is a conference on improving safety in mineral exploitation with new technologies in Viet Nam. The second seminar is entitled ‘Viet Nam's Mining Industry: application of non-traditional technologies toward high productivity and sustainable development'.

Mining Viet Nam 2016 is being supported by ministries and sectors such as the ministries of industry and trade and natural resources and environment, the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Viet Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group as well as overseas partners of the organisers. — VNS
