BINH DUONG (Biz Hub) – Global beer giant Anheuser Busch InBev's first Vietnamese brewery began operations on Thursday in the southern province of Binh Duong.

The company, maker of popular brands like Beck's - the world's biggest selling beer -- and Budweiser, said it was its first plant in Southeast Asia and had a capacity of 50 million litres per year.

Depending on demand, the capacity would increase to 100 million litres, it said.

AB InBev told Bizhub that the plant would produce Beck's and Budweiser for the Vietnamese market before exporting them to neighbouring countries.

It assured that the quality of beers it produced in Viet Nam would be the same as anywhere else in the world.
