HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The State Bank of Viet Nam sold 14,800 of 15,000 taels of gold offered in its 66th auction to 15 credit institutions at VND37.29-37.32 million (US$1,775-1,777) per tael on Friday.
The Saigon Jewellery Company (SJC) posted a rate of VND37.16-37.36 million ($1,769-1,779) on its website at 3pm, while the global price rose to $1,317 per ounce or $1,587 per tael on the kitco.com trading floor, leaving retail prices in Viet Nam $190 higher than the world price.
Since March 28, SBV, the only gold importer in Viet Nam, has sold more than 1.670 million taels of gold at its auctions.— VNS
