HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Lilama Corporation will provide 10,000 tonnes of steel for JGCS Consortium at the Nghi Son oil refinery and petrochemical complex in the central province of Thanh Hoa.
A contract to this effect, worth VND400 billion, or more than US$19 million, was signed on March 24 in Ha Noi.
The JGSC Consortium includes the companies JGC, GS, Chiyoda, SK E&C and Technip. Earlier, the consortium announced that Japan's TKK and Lilama had won the engineering, procurement and construction contract, worth VND1,500 billion, or $71.4 million, for tanks at the Nghi Son refinery. Of this amount, VND480 billion, or $22.8 million, is for Lilama's installation.
In the near future, the JGCS consortium and Lilama will continue to sign contracts for pipe manufacturing and installation, structural steel and mechanical equipment, underground cooling water and sea water lines setup, for an estimated value of approximately VND2,600 billion, or $123.8 million.
The consortium also invited Lilama to bid for contracts to install electricity and instrumentation technology and thermal isolation for the factory.
The Nghi Son oil refinery and petrochemical complex, with the total investment of $9 billion, has a capacity of producing around 200,000 barrels per day. The project, along with the Dung Quat oil refinery in the central Quang Ngai Province, is expected to meet 70 per cent of the demand for oil in the country. — VNS
