South Korea’s Hao Group on Monday worked with leaders of the northern province of Hung Yen on a proposal to invest in a waste treatment project.
The group plans to build a US$76 million waste treatment factory in the region, which will have the capacity to treat 150 tonnes of waste per day.
The project includes an incinerator, a power generator, a high-capacity battery system, and waste-fermenting equipment to produce fertiliser.
The group hopes that the provincial authorities will create favourable conditions for successful implementation of the project, which will help protect the environment.
The chairman of the province’s People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phong has approved the proposal in principle. He has asked the group to conduct a feasibility study and request the departments of planning and investment, and natural resources and environment, and construction to determine a suitable location for the factory. — VNS
