HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Resona Holdings, Inc., a financial holding company from Japan plans to open a representative office in HCM City in October this year, according to Vietnamplus.vn.
During a recent interview, the group's Chairman Kazuhiro Higashi said one reason for the move is to help Japanese small and medium enterprises to advance into overseas markets.
The office will be the group's fifth overseas representative office after Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok.
Currently, the group has not yet taken part in international banking activities and has no plans to open overseas branches for such activities. Instead, they are seeking to increase the number of representative offices abroad to advise Japanese companies doing business overseas. — VNS
