HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares in HCM City extended last Friday's gains during this morning's session.
The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange reached 554.44 points for the first time in four years, increasing by two per cent.
The trading value remained high at VND1.25 trillion (US$59 million) on a volume of 64.9 million shares.
Among the 30 largest stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity tracked by the VN30 Index, only six lost ground. Meanwhile, insurer Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), private equity group Masan (MSN) and Sacombank (STB) hit their ceiling prices. Sixteen others also posted gains.
The index added 2.9 per cent to reach 623.20 points.
Meanwhile, on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index pared gains made earlier to slide 0.4 per cent to 72.49 points.
The HNX30 Index lost 0.38 per cent, reaching 140.08 points.
The trading value and volume totalled VND350.3 billion ($16.5 million) and 35 million shares respectively.— VNS
