The total value of shares auctioned by the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX) since the beginning of 2018 has reached over VND10.8 trillion (US$463 million), according to the northern stock bourse regulator.

The HNX has organised 27 auctions in the first nine months of the year, including 16 capital withdrawals, 10 initial public offerings (IPOs) and one purchase rights. The total amount of shares offered for sale in those auctions was 1.5 billion. Over 674 million shares were sold, equal to 44 per cent of the total amount of shares offered for sale.
In September, the HNX held four auctions, three of them were the IPOs of the Viet Nam Maritime Corporation, Nguyen Van Troi Forestry Company Limited and Kontum Water Supply Company-One member Ltd. In addition, there was one capital divestment session of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) from Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB).
The HNX offered more than 497.2 million shares in those four auctions. Investors bid for over 39 million shares, of which, 100 per cent of shares from Nguyen Van Troi Forestry Company Limited, Kontum Water Supply Company-One member Ltd and the OCB were sold out.
The total number of shares won in September reached 13.9 million, collecting more than VND205 billion, VND34.4 billion higher than the initial price.
The HNX said that in October, there would be five IPOs from Nha Trang Port Joint Stock Company, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank, MBLand Holdings and Phu Tho Cement Joint Stock Company. — VNS
