HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Around 200 businesswomen from ASEAN member countries participated in a conference titled "ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs and the New Regional Economy: Ready for Action!" in Ha Noi.

As part of the ASEAN Woman Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN)'s activities, the conference, held late last week, aimed to disseminate up-to-date information about the impacts of the new ASEAN Economic Community to be formed at the end of this year on member countries and guide businesswomen in setting targets and formulating strategies for the new era.

Attendees shared lessons and experiences in implementing women-entrepreneur support programmes in both the public and private sectors.

Besides, many co-operation opportunities were discussed.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, chairwoman of AWEN, urged businesswomen to share information and opportunities so that they could all access finance, technology, services, and training.

AWEN was created in April 2014 with the target of supporting businesswomen with start-ups and developing their business, especially to improve the role of women in society. — VNS
