HA NOI(BizHub) —Chairman of the Russian Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller recently told Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son that the company might provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Viet Nam within the Vladivostok-LNG project.

The discussion took place in Moscow when he met with ambassador Son, according to Vietnam News Agency.

The two also discussed the rules of oil and gas co-operation and issues related to exploitation of hydrocarbon fuels and natural gas for motor vehicles in Viet Nam.

According to Gazprom's website, on October 4 this year, it signed an agreement with the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) on the basic principles of joint venture activities under a natural gas project.

Gazprom Neft, a subsidiary of Gazprom, also planned to sign an agreement with PetroVietnam to deliver oil to Viet Nam and participate in refining operations.

Since 2006, Gazprom and Petro Vietnam have been engaged in exploration, production and marketing of hydrocarbons in block 112 of Viet Nam's continental shelf through the Vietgazprom joint operating company.— VNS
