HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Vietnam Airlines Tourism Company (VATC) installed the first-ever sleeping pods at Noi Bai International Airport to serve passengers, on July 22.
VATC's head of the business department, Pham Anh Tu told Biz Hub that the pods, with an area of 4 square metres and height of 3 metres each, will serve passengers with private and fully-equipped facilities space that shield them from surrounding noise, light and crowds at the airport.
Passengers will enjoy free drinks and light food in the pods that are designed like mini hotels with beds, storage space for luggage and other valuables, as well as a power source for laptops, mobiles and other electronic devices. They also have access to free wi-fi in the pods.

Tu added there were 14 single and twin pods available at Terminal 1 of Noi Bai International Airport. The passengers can rent the pods on an hourly, half-day or whole day basis. The price for each pod ranges from VND210,000 (US$10) to VND1.8 million (US$85).
Tu also said his company will offer a discount of 20 per cent to a passenger who books the pod from July 22 to August 5.
