Federal Express Corporation has further enhanced service between Southeast Asia and the US with the launch of its first direct flight from Singapore to Anchorage.

HÀ NỘI — Federal Express Corporation, one of the world's largest express transportation companies, has further enhanced service between Southeast Asia and the US with the launch of its first direct flight from Singapore to Anchorage.
This new route makes FedEx the only logistics provider offering a direct, non-stop connection between Singapore and the continental US.
Key industries, including aerospace, healthcare, industrial, high-tech and semiconducting material will benefit from enhanced supply chain efficiency and improved connectivity to major US markets, supporting businesses in Southeast Asia, including fast-growing economies like Việt Nam.
Operating six times a week with a dedicated Boeing 777 freighter, the flight departs from the FedEx South Pacific Regional Hub at Changi Airport in Singapore. With this enhanced connectivity, shipments from Việt Nam will be consolidated in HCM City before being transported to Singapore for the direct flight to Anchorage, ensuring a more seamless and efficient journey to the US.
There is also a direct return flight from Anchorage to Singapore operating once a week, with plans to further expand to five flights per week in the summer to support the seamless flow of goods in both directions.
Việt Nam stands to gain substantially from the new flight, as it enables packages to be transhipped via Singapore to reach the US market faster. Vietnamese exporters can now benefit from fewer transfer points.
Trade between Southeast Asia and the US remains an important corridor driven by e-commerce, high-tech electronics and manufactured goods.
Việt Nam, one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing economies, saw bilateral trade with the US reach nearly US$150 billion in 2024, making it the largest US trading partner in ASEAN. As Việt Nam's role in electronics, semiconductors, and manufacturing grows, efficient logistics will be key to sustaining this growth.
"The launch of this new flight is a significant leap in strengthening ties between Southeast Asia and the US market," said Ee-Hui Tan, Managing Director of FedEx Vietnam and Cambodia.
"For Vietnamese businesses, this means greater speed, reliability and flexibility. The enhanced connectivity ensures businesses of all types can meet growing export demand more efficiently while remaining competitive in the global supply chain." — BIZHUB
