A fair on agriculture and products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme in the North will be held in Hoa Binh Province from November 1 to November 5.

The fair, marking Hoa Binh Province Citrus Fruit Festival 2019, will include 100 pavilions displaying high-quality Vietnamese agro-forestry products, the fair organisers said at a press conference held in Ha Noi on October 15.

The fair and the festival are important trade promotion activities to advertise OCOP, specialty and handicraft products as well as high-quality and prestigious Vietnamese farming, forestry and fishery products.

At the same time, it is an opportunity for localities to introduce projects and policies calling for investment in high-tech agriculture and products under the OCOP programme.

This is also a chance for the localities to show their potentials and strengths in the field of agriculture and rural tourism services.

They will help businesses and farms in the North have direct contact with enterprises purchasing and processing agricultural, forestry and aquatic products nationwide.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the OCOP programme focuses on developing agricultural and non-agricultural products and services that have advantages in each locality under the value chain linking stakeholders such as enterprises, farm households and cooperatives. — VNS
