Eximbank brings JCB credit cards to VN

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Vietnam today (Dec. 10) launched JCB credit cards for the first time in Viet Nam.

The holders of the Eximbank – JCB International Credit Card will be able to use their cards at 25 million merchants' and one million ATMs in more than 190 countries and territories.

"We are glad to co-operate with Eximbank Vietnam, one of the leading banks of the country," JCB International chairman Koremitsu Sannomiya said.

"We have developed points of sale in Viet Nam for Japanese living and working here since 1991 and now we begin issuing our cards to Vietnamese customers," he said.

He said Viet Nam is the most important market in Asia for JCBI based on the "closeness between the two countries and the potential for population growth and economic development."

Eximbank has issued almost 1.3 million VISA, Master, and CUP (China Union Pay) cards, the director of the bank's card unit, Nguyen Dinh Quy, said. — VNS
