Vietnamese airlines will now be allowed to resume domestic flights to and from Da Nang after more than a month of social distancing due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

This move follows a decision by the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam after the pandemic has been brought under control in the city.

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines began operating one round trip between Ha Noi and Da Nang and one round trip between HCM City and Da Nang today. The schedule of flights to and from Da Nang after September 11 will be updated regularly according to the situation and requests by authorities.

During this time, Vietnam Airlines continues seat spacing at the request of the Ministry of Transport to minimise the possibility of infection and recommends passengers to take measures to protect their health as well as the community.

The carrier applies comprehensive prevention procedures and standards from the ground to the air, such as cleaning, spraying and disinfecting aircraft, service equipment and medical protective equipment for employees. Passengers will make medical declarations, take temperature measurements before boarding and wear masks during the journey. Aerial service standards are simplified to limit repeated exposure.

Operation schedules can be adjusted by Vietnam Airlines based on situation as well as the impact of the disease. In case of flight schedule change, passengers will be notified and assisted in accordance with the current regulations of the airline.

To update information regularly, passengers can visit www.vietnamairlines.com, Vietnam Airlines mobile app, official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/VietnamAirlines, and contact Vietnam Airlines’ ticket offices nationwide or Customer Service Call Center: 1900 1100.

Meanwhile, budget airline Vietjet will resume domestic flights to and from Da Nang on Tuesday.

According to initial plans, Vietjet will resume the Da Nang-Ha Noi and Da Nang-HCM City routes with a frequency of one return flight per day for each route in order to meet the travel demand of people as well as contribute to economic recovery in the city and the Central Highlands region.

Vietjet said its passengers are arranged to sit at a safe distance and take measures to prevent the pandemic, including wearing masks at airports and on aircraft; filling mandatory health declarations; and installing the Bluezone app on their smartphones (if possible).

The carrier also offers super promotion tickets priced only VND10,000 for passengers to welcome the Autumn travel season of 2020. Promotional tickets are up for grabs from September 7 to September 12. Detailed information about flight schedules and promotional tickets is available on Vietjet’s official information channels at www.vietjetair.com, official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/vietjetvietnam/, ticket offices and official agents. — VNS
