HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Viet Nam Drift 1 Workshop will start its programme of activities with a stunt show at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Motorbike Festival at the Crescent Residence, in Phu My Hung, HCM City on August 25.
Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally or unintentionally over steers, causing a loss of traction in the rear wheel, while maintaining control from the entry to the exit of a corner.
On the day, three motorbike teams from Thailand, China and Malaysia will also perform a gymkhana stunt show. This will feature obstacles such as cones, tires, and barrels. The driver must manoeuvre through a predetermined "track," performing many different driving techniques such as wheelies, burn-outs and drifting in an artistic way.
The gymkhana also requires the drivers to reverse, do 180 degree spins, 360 degree spins, park in boxes, figure 8s, and other advanced skills.
The Gabit team from Malaysia is seen as a young talented team in world stunt circles when it performed along with Rok Bagoros, the world famous stunt rider, at many competitions. Gabit has successfully appeared in over 400 shows.
Thaistunter, one of Thailand's most famous teams, has riders ZombieStunt Keng and Yupadee Vongtaveesub as key members of the team.
Meanwhile, Wu Hei from China's Shanghai has more than 16 years experience. He has visited Viet Nam two times before with his impressive stunt performances. — VNS
