Coal industry revenue reaches $4 billion in seven months

The total revenue of the Việt Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) is estimated at VNĐ100.7 trillion (US$4.15 billion) in the first seven months of this year.

The revenue fulfilled 57.5 per cent of the year’s plan and saw a year-on-year growth of 4.7 per cent.

The corporation exploited 23.08 million tonnes in the seven months, reaching 60 per cent of the yearly plan, up 1.4 per cent over the same period.

It produced 32.16 million tonnes of commercial coal, reaching 62.2 per cent of the plan, up 112 per cent.

In addition, Vinacomin sold 29.1 million tonnes of coal in the period, filling 58.2 per cent of the plan, up 1 per cent.

At the same time, the corporation produced 5.98 billion kWh of electricity, reaching 57 per cent of the annual plan, up 9.7 per cent.

It is expected that Vinacomin will produce 2.78 million tonnes of coal this month and import 1.2 million tonnes of coal and sell 3.25 million tonnes.

At the same time, it will also produce 114,000 tonnes of alumina, 8,300 tonnes of copper concentrate, 850 tonnes of zinc ingots and 640 million kWh of electricity. — VNS
