Two direct international flights connecting Can Tho City to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok will begin operating in the second quarter this year, according to Tran Viet Phuong, director of Can Tho City’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.

Both routes will be operated by Malaysian budget airline AirAsia.
The route connecting Can Tho City and Kuala Lumpur will be launched on April 8, and the Can Tho – Bangkok (Thailand) route will start on May 2.
The new flights are expected to attract more tourists from ASEAN-member countries as well as from India and Australia as AirAsia has many connecting flight routes.
The Can Tho international airport, which has been operating for 10 years, has a capacity of 3-5 million passengers per year.—VNS
